Great start to the season for Pee Wee LL
The Pee Wee LL team started off the regular season with some good hockey.
The first game was at home on Thursday night for the Pee Wee's. BCH came to Monkton for the 6:30pm start.
BCH was first to get on the board 25 seconds into the game. The team just needed to get their legs under them as this is the first game and for the most, first time playing together this year. BCH would get another one with 2:16 left in the first. Central Perth squeaked a goal in with 1:04 left in the first from defenceman, Phillip Beuerman. Sawyer Voskamp and Ryerson Hargrave assisted on the goal to bring us within one.
The second period saw lots of back and forth action. 4 minutes into the second, Beuerman was at it again from the blue line with a goal, assisted by Aleah Brown. Just 3 minutes later, Beuerman passed up to Hunter Gilbert who connected with Voskamp to get one past the BCH netminder. We were up 3-2 with 3 minutes left in the second.
BCH did get one more past our goalie Zack Bowles to tie it at 3 all. We were unable to get ahead so the game ended in a tie.
It was a great first game effort by all.
Saturday, we travelled to Listowel for an exhibition game vs. the Cyclones. The Cyclones got on the board in the first period. That's where the game stayed for the remainder of the game , 1-0 for Listowel. A great game for Bowles in net again.
We host BCH 2 on Thursday, Oct 26th for 6:30 pm start. Saturday we travel to Lucknow for a 2:45 pm game.
