Central Perth Minor Hockey

Greetings CPMHA Families

Central Perth Minor Hockey Association Executive has been hard at work in developing a return to play plan for our association in accordance with the regulations and guidelines by OHF, Hockey Canada, WOAA, OMHA and Huron Perth Public Health. We are currently in stage 3B of this plan.  This allows associations to have a maximum of 25 players (including coaching staff) on the ice, limited access to the benches and run group training/practices.  This information can be found by clicking the below link outlining the stages for return to play.

Your CPMHA Executive has taken into careful consideration the guidelines/regulations and survey results received.  With this information, CPMHA will run “inter-association” programming which will include smaller team sizes to meet the Hockey Federation guidelines and two 50-minute ice times per week.  There will be a minimum 2-week development stage once we hit the ice as mandated by our governing bodies.  On ice activities will plan to start between Oct. 5th and 15th.  This is subject to change depending on the status of Covid and related issues.

The Provincial Guidelines mandate that a facility cannot exceed a maximum of 50 people occupancy capacity. Following the Provincial Guidelines, ONE parent/guardian per player will have access into the facility.

The association's plan moving forward is to run 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 game programming internally matching skill levels for lines to ensure player on-ice engagement.  This will also accommodate and incorporate our girl’s on-ice programming.  U9 and below programming will run as per the past split ice requirements with gameplay potential at a later date.

We are currently working on a registration payment structure and that information will be available shortly. Please let our Registrar; Elesha Buchanan, know the intentions of your hockey player(s) by September 12th to ensure accurate numbers for our Annual General Meeting and scheduling.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

2020/21 Registration and Covid-19

We know that, because of all of the uncertainty due to Covid-19, many parents and players are unsure as to whether to sign up for the 2020/21 hockey season.  There is currently no guidance from OMHA as to what the fall might bring, or when we might be allowed on the ice.  We certainly don't know what the fall will bring.  We have priced hockey registration assuming that we will get a full season, and that is what our current planning is centred around.  As minor hockey, profit has never been our goal - we have always attempted to break even. Due to uncertainty as to what things might look like, we can't even present a solid plan for what a refund plan may look like because of all of the potential variables (ie. full season/late start/ break in the middle/season ending well before the regular end).  Rest assured that registration costs will be adjusted to reflect what actually happens next season.  For those who may feel unsafe in the fall even if hockey goes ahead, we will give refunds to those who do not start the season and prorated refunds if you change your mind before December 1st
The late fee is still in effect after June 1st, because none of the planning has changed.  We still need to have a solid idea of the number of players, the number of teams, and the ice time that will be required.  Registration forms need to be handed in, but, as in other years, the registration cheque should be post dated until September 1st.  Hopefully by then we will be in a better position to know what will happen. For those who wish to pay by installments over the summer months, you can still do so without fear that your fees will be lost if there is no season..
Everyone, cross your fingers that hockey starts on time, and runs for a full season!  GO PREDATORS!
