Season comes to an end on the road...
Friday night we travelled to Mildmay for the second game of the final playoff round to meet with South Bruce.
Thursday night's game didn't go as we had hoped, with a 6-0 loss at home.
Friday night in Mildmay started off much better though. At the end of the first period, we were up 3-0 on goals from Ryerson Hargrave and 2 from Hunter Gilbert. Assists came from Aleah Brown, Sawyer Voskamp, Noal Kirkham and Nolan McMillan.
Those three goals however, wouldn't hold the lead as South Bruce scored twice in the second and twice in the third for a 4-3 final score. We did however go penalty free for the game compared to South Bruce's 5 infractions.
The kids had a great year and grew together as a team, participating in 3 tournaments, winning one of those. We had some wins and losses but that's how the game of hockey goes. The kids had fun and can still laugh at the end of the day.
Congratulations to Zach Bowles for being the bearer of the treasured Unicorn! Well deserved!
