The Atom LL team hosted the Ripley Wolves on Saturday, Oct. 29th.
The team was prepped and ready to go to try and get their first 'W' of the season. We had a full bench and Tim Beuerman started in goal.
Gavin Falk was on the attack from the drop of the puck. He scored unassisted 50 seconds into the game. After that first goal, the rest of the period was a close one with control of the puck going back and forth. Tim Beuerman made some great stops to ward off a tie game.
The second period had offence on both sides come to life. Two minutes into the second, Hunter Gilbert scored an unassisted goal. Ripley scored a minute later to come within 1. Cayden Hulley gave an insurance goal with 37 seconds left on a pass from Hunter Gilbert. Second period ended 3-1.
Beuerman passed off the goaltending responsibility to Nicole Eby who came in to start the 3rd. Hunter Gilbert got us on the board again with his second goal of the game on a pass from Gavin Falk.
Ripley proved to have good offence in the third and scored 2 goals in 5 minutes. This left the score at 4-3. The game was a tense one at this point. Sawyer Voskamp with 1:51 remaining found the back of the net on a pass from Cayden Hulley. The game wasn't over yet as with 54 seconds left, Ripley scored another to come within 1. The defense did their job though in the last minute and that's where the score ended, 5-4 win for Central Perth!
Hunter Gilbert had a 2 goal and 1 assist game. Great passing and teamwork was shown by all the team!
The team hosts Lucknow on Saturday at 11 in Monkton. Then on Monday, November 7th we welcome Blyth Brussels to PERC for a weekday game.
