The Atoms finish the season with 2 wins!
The Atoms had two games to finish off the season, both against BCH Ice Dog teams.
The first was a home game on January 28th vs BCH Ice Dogs #1.
Our team was on fire from the drop of the puck. Nicole Eby started in net for us. In the first period we had three goals recorded: one each from Hayden Snow, Hunter Gilbert and Cayden Hulley. Hulley and Sawyer Voskamp assisted. BCH was able to get 1 on us in the first.
BCH would also get one more in the second but it wasn't enough to even it up as Haiden Goetz and Aleah Brown got us on the board, Brown with 2. Snow, Gilbert and Falk all assisted on those goals.
Tim Beuerman came in to relieve Eby in the third in net. Haiden Goetz would get his second of the game, unassisted to cap off a 7-4 win.
February 2nd we travelled to Clinton to meet BCH #2 team for our last regular season game.
It was a rocky start for Beuerman in net. BCH was leading 3-0 by the end of the first period. Into the second and BCH would get one more before Beuerman was pulled to have Eby come in.
Our Atoms fought back and by the third period it was a 4-4 tie for us. With 1:30 left in the third Sawyer Voskamp got the winning goal.
We finish the season with a 5-4 win!
The scheduling meeting is tomorrow night so we will know soon what our playoff schedule looks like for the round robin WOAA playoffs.
