Predators Down Drayton Again
Take a 4pts to 2 lead in the Series
Your CP Midget Reps hosted Drayton Friday night at the PERC in game 3 of their OMHA second round series. With the series tied at 2pts each coming into the game, it was probably the biggest game of the season for both teams, with the winner having the upper hand going into game 4.
Quipp would get us on the board first about 5 minutes into the game, assisted by Smith. Drayton would tie things up with about 3 minutes left in the period, end the first tied at 1.
Halfway through the second, Quipp would notch his second of the night, unassisted, to send us into the flood up 2-1.
We would hold off a hard pressing Drayton team for the majority of the 3rd, but with their goalie pulled and an extra skater on the ice, they'd tie things up with 1 minute remaining in the game...and off to OT we'd go...
OT was intense, with opportunities for both teams, until right around the halfway mark of the extra frame when Huber would bury home the game winner, assisted by McCourt and Quipp. Final CP 3, Drayton 2.
The boys now have a 4pts to 2 series lead, and can close out the series Wednesday night at 8:30pm in Drayton...there is no question that Drayton will not go down without a fight, so the boys will need to bring their best effort of the season so far to win on the road.
