Midgets Tie OMHA Series with Drayton
Solid Performance on the Road
Your CP Midget Reps travelled to Drayton last night for game 2 of their second round OMHA series. Looking to finally solve Drayton this season, and to tie up the series, the boys were hungry for a win.
With time winding down in the first, Steckly potted his second in as many games, assisted by Francis and Erb. We'd end the first up 1-0.
Late in the second, Drayton would finally solve a solid Mueller to tie the game, but Francis would answer that less than a minute later, his first of the season with the rep team, assisted by LeBlanc and Quipp. Going into the flood we were up 2-1.
With under 3 minutes to go in the game, Gilbert and LeBlanc would break out on 2-on-1, Gilbert would finish a beauty feed from LeBlanc, with another assist to Erb for starting the breakout, to put us up by 2. Drayton would add a goal with just over a minute left with their net empty, but we would hold them off and win the game 3-2.
Next up is game 3 of the series back on home ice, Friday night, 7pm at the PERC. Let's keep things rolling now boys, last nights game was the most solid all-around game of the season and was a treat to watch!
