Strong Start to OMHA
CP Midgets Dominate Lucknow in Game 1
Your Central Perth Midget Reps opened up their OMHA playoff run with a dominate performance last night over Lucknow. In what was one of the BEST displays thus far this season, the boys played like a team, with crisp passing, puck control, strong forechecking and backchecking, with a stellar performance by Mueller between the pipes, plus one of the lowest penalty minute games all season!
If the boys can play with this kind of effort every night we're in for a long playoff run!!!
Leeuwen would open up the scoring just past the halfway mark of the first, assisted by Huber and Skinner. We'd end the first up 1-0.
The second would start off with McCourt finishing off a rebound, assist to LeBlanc. Skinner would add the next one late in the period, assisted by Terpstra and Leeuwen. We would head into the flood up 3-0.
The first shot of the third period took a weird bounce and snuck by Mueller to get Lucknow on the board, but that would be all they could muster, and the flood gates opened up after that.
Skinner would notch his second of the night assisted by Quipp. 30 seconds later, Quipp would find the mesh assisted by Francis and Skinner. LeBlanc would then add another from the point assisted by McCourt. Then it was back to Quipp for his second, again assisted by Skinner. Quipp would record the hattrick on a feed from Skinner, final score Central Perth 8, Lucknow 1.
Game 2 of the series goes this Saturday, 8pm start time at the PERC in Milverton.
Game 3 is also in Milverton, on Friday January 26th, 7pm start at the PERC as well.
