Great day in Drayton for tournament
The Atom LL team travelled to Drayton for the day on January 6th for a one day tournament.

The first match up of the day was vs. Oakville. Despite Derek Gropp scoring both goals, we were unable to come back and match the 4 goals that Oakville scored on netminder, Tim Beuerman.
Final score 4-2.

After a delicious lunch of spaghetti for the kids, the next game was at 2pm vs. Guelph.
This game had a better result as we were victorious with a final score of 5-1. Bryce Brown was in net for the win. This win put us into the 'C' final game at 5pm vs. Centre Wellington 25.

The game was a tense one. We were winning 4-0 by the end of the first period. Centre Wellington slowly clawed their way back and before we knew it, it was 4-3. Into the third period we go and the lead is slim. Our offense answered the call and came back to get 3 goals in the third. Tim Beuerman, playing winger for this game, solidified the deal with an empty netter with 1:30 to go. Final score 7-4 and 'C' champs!

Derek Gropp had a great day with a number of goals to add to his tally. The line of Anden Pol, Gropp and Beuerman were strong offensively as well. The other forward line of Kaleb Horton-Shine, Hailey McLean, Ben Sippel and Haiden Goetz also had a few goals to go towards the day and worked hard on their passing and teamwork.
Our defense hussled in each game too and contributed to the victories!

This kids has a good day and had some very even competition with teams from centres we don't normally see in the year.
This week we have a practice on Saturday in Milverton at 10am.
Sunday, Lucknow comes to town for a 6pm matchup.
The regular season is winding down!
