A solid weekend of hockey for the Atom LL squad

A two game weekend for the Atom LL ended up with a tie and a win.

The Atom's welcomed Blyth Brussels Crusaders to Monkton on Friday night for 7pm. It was a tight game back and forth to both ends.
With 2:58 left in the first the Crusaders got a quick shot by Tim Beuerman to make it a 1 goal lead going into the second.
The second period would show the abilities of each goalie as neither allowed a goal. Beuerman made some fabulous stops and controlled the rebounds.
Four minutes into the third period Anden Pol and Bryer Hargrave fed the puck to their linemate, Haiden Goetz who was able to get one past the Crusaders goalie.
The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
A great effort for both teams.

On Sunday, we travelled to Blyth for a 1pm rematch.
It was another great game for both teams. The first period was an exciting one. Haiden Goetz was on fire for us and scored 2 unassisted goals within 3 minutes. Blyth-Brussels did score one in  between Goetz's two goals. Tim Beuerman added a third with 3:24 left. Assisted by Goetz and Hargrave. The first period ended with our team up 3-1.
Blyth-Brussels would get one in the second to come within 1. But our defense stayed tight and Bryce Brown was solid in net and we ended with a 3-2 win.
Our season so far has us at 4-0-1!

This week we have our Hockey Days game at 11 am vs. Zurich at the PERC. Come out and enjoy a great weekend of hockey as all our Central Perth teams will be playing over the span of the weekend.
