Great game vs. one of the best teams in our league
Sunday the Pee Wee's welcomed Ripley Wolves to PERC for a much anticipated matchup.
Our Pee Wee's were having some apprehension about Sunday's game vs. Ripley. So far this year, Ripley has only lost 2 games. We didn't meet up with them last weekend in Tiverton at the tournament so this was our first outing against them.
The game opened up with a quick, fast paced feel. 3 minutes into the first though, Noal Poole had the puck at the blue line and gave it a go towards the net. The high shot fooled the Ripley goalie and we were on the board. Sheldon Leis had the assist on the goal. Both teams were evenly matched and the puck was back and forth. The first period ended with our team up 1-0.
We continued to work hard in the second trying to get the puck past their netminder. Ripley got on the board halfway thru the second to even things up.
Into the third we went all even at 1. Reid Baillie was keeping us in the game with some amazing saves and deflections. The player who scored the first goal for Ripley proved to be their 'go-to' player as he put 2 more into our net in the third period. It wasn't for lack of trying on our part, as we had lots of attempts and rushes to their net.
The final score ended 3-1 for Ripley. A great game with good passing and teamwork! We'll get them next time!
This weekend, is a practice on Saturday in Monkton and our last game before the holidays on Sunday vs. Howick Hornets at PERC.
