Central Perth Atoms continue to work hard...
The Atom Rep’s have kept working at their game the past
couple weeks. They are still trying to find their groove and get on the winning
track!
November 20th, Drayton Defenders came to Elma Logan for a game. The first period saw neither team net a goal. The second period had the visitors start the scoring with two goals. Central Perth came back with two of their own, one from Cohen Smith, assisted by Logan Dallner and another from Quinn Kipfer, assisted by Lachlan Faber. It was a very even game up to the end of the second. That’s where the home teams goals ended. Drayton netted three in the third for a final score of 5-2 for Drayton.
November 27th saw Minto Mad Dogs come to Elma Logan for a Friday night match-up. Minto started there scoring streak with a goal in the first. Our Atom’s had hard time finding the back of the net. The second period saw Minto get one more. The third period started with Minto up 2-0. Minto scored 4 more to end the game ahead 6-0. Reid Baillie was amazing in goal and certainly was put to work. He worked hard to keep his team in it for sure!
Saturday morning, Blyth-Brussels travelled to Milverton for a 9am start. The Crusaders scored first and the second period started with the visitors leading 1-0.
Our Atoms got on the board with a goal from Callum Hallahan, assisted by Ben Fizell and Noah Poole. The game stayed a tie until the start of the third when the visitors scored 3 times to end the game 4-1. Reid Baillie had another stellar performance between the pipes!
The Atoms have practice Wednesday night, December 2nd and then Arthur comes to Monkton Friday night for a 7pm start. Saturday and Sunday are practice times.
Keep working hard Atoms!
The first game of the season had the Atom’s travel to Arthur for a game vs the Arthur Vipers. The home team started of the scoring in the first period and finished the first leading 2-0. The second period saw Central Perth Atom’s come alive with 2 goals by Kyle Steckley assisted by Gavin Wilson and Callum Hallahan and one marker from Callum Hallahan assisted by Steckley. The Vipers also added 2 more to end the second period leading 4-3.
The third period saw our Atom’s adding three more goals: Steckley unassisted, Gavin Wilson assisted by Cohen Smith and Noal Poole assisted by Steckley. Unfortunately our Atom’s efforts weren’t enough to hold the home team. Arthur added 3 of their own in the third to end the game with a win 7-6.
Friday night saw the first home game of our season hosting Wingham Ironmen. It was an even start as the first period ended 3-1 for Wingham. Ben Fizell scored his first of the season assisted by Gavin Wilson and Lachlan Faber. The home team ended the second trailing 6-1. Gavin Wilson added one more assisted by Noal Poole and that would be all we would get in a 7-2 loss.
Saturday’s matchup saw the Atom’s travel to Brussels to meet the Blyth Brussels Crusaders. Another tough outing for our team with a 5-1 loss. Ben Fizell netted our only goal in this game.
A busy weekend was capped of with a trip to Harriston to play the Minto Mad Dogs. The home team started of the first period with 4 goals. It wasn’t until the second period that Ben Fizell was able to find the back of the net assisted by Callum Hallahan. One more in the third from Gavin Wilson assisted by Logan Dallner was all we would get in a 7-2 loss.
It was a tough weekend for our team but it’s just the start as we bring two teams together. Lots of hard work and practice will bring it all together this season.
The Atom’s travel to Shallow Lake this weekend for a tournament, playing Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday morning. Here’s to better games ahead!
