So close to a win...
The Atoms met up again with Arthur Vipers on Friday night for a tight match.
Playoffs continue for the Atom Rep squad. We are winding down in the year. Arthur proves to be a tough opponent for us and we continue to give them a challenge.
Arthur came with 8 skaters and a goalie so we thought we could outskate the short bench. Our team was down 2 players but we had called up Quinn Kipfer and Nolan McMillan to help us out. The first period saw Arthur get on the board first 3 minutes into the game. We kept it even for the rest of the first period and it ended at 1-0 for Arthur.
The second period was a tight matchup as well. Kyle Steckley fed a pass to Callum Hallahan in front of the net and we got on the board! The second period ended at 1-1 tie.
Reid Baillie was stellar in goal again for us and did all he could between the pipes.
The third period was tight and with only 2:21 left, Arhtur got one past Reid with a traffic jam in front of the net.
The Atoms tried hard with 2 minutes left to even it up but we couldn't find the back of the net.
The Atoms are still looking for their first win in this playoff round robin. We travel to Goderich tomorrow night for a matchup with them at 7 pm. Goderich comes back to us in Milverton on the 29th at 7pm.
