Regular season comes to a close
The Atom LL had their last regular season game on Saturday vs. Mitchell.
Wearing the new Central Perth Predators home sweaters, we were looking for a win to go with the win we had a week ago against the same team.
The first period was a good defensive one as both teams couldn't get a goal past the opponents netminder. It would with 3:16 left in the second before the first goal was scored by Derek Gropp, assisted by Bryce Brown. The lead was short lived as Mitchell scored 2 minutes later and then another a minute after that to end the second with a 2-1 lead. Tim Beuerman tried his best to save the shots the first time but couldn't get the rebounds stopped.
The third period saw Mitchell get 3 more goals to enjoy a 5-1 lead. With 1:49 left Derek Gropp got an unassisted goal to make it a final 5-2 score.
The team will have just practice this coming weekend as we have to wait for our play off rounds to be decided.
