Slow out of the gate
Friday night the peewee reps traveled to Arthur to kick off the regular season, the team was sluggish to start the game and fell behind early and dug a deep hole finding themselves down 3-0 by the end of the second. In a game where we found ourselves in the penalty box more then not they still wouldn't give up after killing a 5 on 3 for more then 2 minutes that seemed to kickstart the team towards a comeback with 2 quick goals to pull us within 1 but Arthur put the game away with a shorthanded goal with just over 3 minutes left.
Maeva Lichtensteiger and Ashton Ryter scored our 2 goals, assists went to Luke Riehl, Sam Lichtensteiger, Owen Scheerer and Lucas Quipp.
Saturday evening the team was up in Goodrich where we fell behind early again but this time we were ready to play and stayed with Goodrich, we kept our penalties under control and kept battling, we came out of there with a 5-5 tie. Joel Dallnar lead the way with 2 beauty goals, Tyler Wagler, Dakota Leung and Owen Scheerer rounded out the scoring. Assists went to Nathan Earl with a pair, Jarvis Kuepfer, Tyler Wagler, Owen Scheerer and Sam and Maeva Lichtenstieger each had one.
Next weekend we travel up to Shallow Lake for a tournament!
