An amazing end to an amazing year!
24 hours, 4 hockey games, 5 goals for the Atom LL, 4 goals against!

Friday night was the Atoms last WOAA playoff game. BCH Ice Dogs 1 joined us in Monkton. The fans were kept on the edge of their seats throughout the entire game.

Goalie, Zach Bowels, playing strong as ever, as cheers for the goalie where coming from all sides of the arena with great save after save.

Two minutes left in the third, Bowels heads to the bench to make it a 6 on 5 game. Giving everything they got, the Atoms just couldn’t get the puck past the BCH goalie. The outcome 1-0.

A great performance by our defense player (aka back-up goalie) Ethan for making some great saves in those last two minutes. Also a congratulations to the entire team for having no penalties!

Congratulations to the BCH Ice Dogs 1 as they finished in top spot of our Silver West WOAA playoffs.  Your team showed great sportsmanship, and we wish you luck as you continue your playoffs.

Saturday the team travelled to Lucknow for their last tournament of the season

Game One vs. BCH Ice Dogs 1

Déjà vu of the night before as we once again took the ice against BCH Ice Dogs 1. BCH took the lead with the first goal of the game. Again, the Atoms kept fighting back. Down to the last few minutes of the game, Bowels gets the call to the bench as the Atoms try to tie it up. But once again BCH holds strong until the buzzer ends the game... 2-1 final score.

But the BCH trumpet played loud for both teams as they once again gave their fans an exciting game to watch. Goalie Zach Bowels took home MVP for that game.

Game two vs. Mitchell Meteors

Now playing for the Consolation Trophy the Atoms had to win this game to continue to the finals. And WIN they got! They tightened their skates, pulled up their socks and gave it their all. Their hard work payed off as we finished that game with a score of 2-1.  Defenseman, Ethan Neubrand took home the MVP of this game

Game three vs Minto for the CONSULATION CHAMPIONSHIP!

After a quick break from their game against Mitchell, on to the ice they headed again. The team was pumped, the coaches were pumped, the fans were pumped, excitement was in the air. With such close games these past few weeks, the Atoms never gave up and gave it all they could not only to end their year, but the tournament. The Atoms beat Minto 3-1 taking home a very well deserved plaque and metals. A spot also on the trophy to proudly engrave CENTRAL PERTH ATOM LL!

Special shout out to Zac, Nolan, Tristen, Ryerson, Landon, Hunter, Matthew, Noal, Sawyer, Ethan, Avyn, Ried and Derek. It has been a pleasure to watch you all play and grow this season! You should all be very proud of yourself!

Five months ago I wrote “What do you get when you take 12 kids from two different centers, 5 different schools…one heck of a hockey team.”

Five months later….What do you get when you take 13 amazing kids, 4 great coaches, 13 awesome families…new friendships to last a life time and memories to never forget. We have shared wins and losses, stress and triumphs, laughs and tears. For all this I thank you!

As the season comes to an end with some fun practices and parties, we look forward to when our paths will cross again!
